Hall of Angels’ Share 2026: Villingen Whisky & Rum Fair, Exhibitors and Visiting Guide
The Black Forest's whisky and rum gathering is back
Germany's whisky landscape extends well beyond familiar international bottles. Independent bottlers, regional makers, specialist importers and rum producers all have a place at Hall of Angels’ Share, returning to Neue Tonhalle Villingen from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 November 2026. The organiser describes the event as more conversational and personal than an anonymous mass-market trade show: an opportunity to compare unusual casks and speak directly to those who select and bottle them.
The 2026 exhibitor directory is already online. Rather than speculate on who might attend, this preview separates businesses listed by the organiser from the whiskies or individual expressions that may be available on the day. The directory expressly warns that exhibitors can change. Check it again before setting out.

The organisers say each admission ticket includes a branded whisky-snifter glass. An alternative of six Angel Coins worth €6 is also described for those not taking a glass. Sessions are separately ticketed; the official site says purchased tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded. Those are organiser terms, not a general legal opinion.
Exhibitors worth looking out for
The official 2026 exhibitor directory includes a notably broad mix of independent bottling, continental whisky and other spirits. Some of the announced exhibitors are:
Confirmed listed business | What to explore |
|---|---|
Riegger's Selection | Independent Scotch casks, specialist finishes and event-selected releases |
Bruichladdich Distillery | Islay's spectrum of styles; compare production approach with smoky and unpeated expressions |
St Kilian Distillers | German single malt and creative cask maturation |
Thy Whisky | Danish organic estate production and grain-led flavours |
Koval | Chicago-made whiskeys and unusual grain choices |
Kirsch Import | Broad import portfolio, including Glenallachie and Benromach |
Prineus | International whisky names such as Lindores Abbey and Ballindalloch |
The Caskhound | Independent Scotch single-cask selections |
Marder Whisky | Regional Black Forest whisky |
Diageo | Its advertised spirits range and a Special Releases masterclass |
Spirithöker | A range including Bunnahabhain, Deanston and Ledaig |
These names are not all distilleries: importers and independent bottlers may pour expressions from multiple producers. A listed distributor portfolio is not proof of a particular bottle's availability. For whisky background, see Whisky Clan's guides to St Kilian, Koval, Benromach, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain and Deanston.
Tastings: when to make a separate plan
The event site explains that additional guided tastings run during the festival period, in nearby locations rather than necessarily on the main exhibition floor. It describes Saturday tasting sessions and locations within a short walk of the hall, but individual 2026 tasting presenters, availability and prices should be checked on the current booking pages. Do not rely on historic 2024 masterclass schedules still indexed on older pages: these are not confirmed for November 2026.
A sensible route through the hall begins with something familiar, then moves into comparisons: try a regional single malt against a classic Scotch maturation; ask an independent bottler why a particular cask was selected; and, if interested in rum, discuss how a finishing cask changes texture without claiming that the entire flavour comes from the wood.
The venue and getting around
Neue Tonhalle is in Villingen, part of Villingen-Schwenningen in the Black Forest. A central-town location makes it practical to combine the fair with an overnight stay and a walk through the historic centre. Confirm the hall entrance and step-free access directly with the organiser, particularly if booked into a separate tasting away from the main venue. Leave time between sessions and avoid rushing to sample every stall.
Plan food and water breaks. Because tasting sessions involve alcohol, arrange public transport, taxis or a designated non-drinking driver, and do not assume a tasting ticket permits admission to other sessions. Take proof of age and retain your booking confirmation.
