Glasgow’s Whisky Festival 2026: Hampden Park Guide and Confirmed Sold-Out Sessions

Scotland's national stadium becomes a whisky destination

For one day each year, whisky fans take over a very different sort of arena. Glasgow's Whisky Festival returns to Hampden Park on Saturday 7 November 2026, offering two separate tasting sessions. It is not a free-flowing all-day entry ticket: the organiser runs a strict two-session format and says attendees must not attempt to buy or use tickets for both.

Both 2026 sessions are officially sold out. The organisers announced the sell-out on 5 May 2026, and the current ticket page still marks both as unavailable. Anyone seeing a third-party resale offer should be cautious, because the festival says tickets are non-refundable and operates controls against double-session attendance. This guide is therefore most useful to existing ticket holders and to readers planning for future editions, rather than presenting an event that can still be booked normally.

The organiser's website says all visitors receive a festival session with whisky, other spirits and gift stands. The precise number of brands, stall allocations and bottle availability are subject to updates. Treat a tasting programme as a guide, not an unconditional list of every dram that will be available.

Confirmed and announced exhibitors

The festival maintains an official 2026 exhibitors page and warns that exhibitor arrangements and brand selections can change. Names publicly listed in the latest organiser search results include Adelphi Selection / Ardnamurchan, Glencadam / Tomintoul, Ardgowan, Arran / Lagg, Ballindalloch, Berry Bros. & Rudd, Bruichladdich and Bunnahabhain / Deanston / Ledaig. These reflect published exhibitor information, not a guarantee of specific expressions or a final floor plan.

For a little background before queuing at those stands, Whisky Clan maintains producer guides for Ardnamurchan, Glencadam, Tomintoul, Ardgowan, Bruichladdich and Ballindalloch. These links explain distillery context, not confirmed 2026 sample menus.

Visiting Hampden Park

Hampden Park is Scotland's national football stadium, in Glasgow's Southside. The festival's venue page advises visitors to enter through the main doors on the south side of the stadium and identifies Mount Florida railway station as a nearby approach. Public transport is particularly sensible for a whisky-tasting event. Check local train and bus times, stadium access arrangements and any temporary event-day entrance signage before setting off.

There are two sessions rather than an open-ended day pass. Leave yourself enough time for arrival and identification checks, and note that the final 15 minutes are not additional tasting time: the official site says service ends a quarter of an hour before closing.

A tasting plan that actually works

You do not need to sample every available whisky to have a productive visit. Start with a few expressions from one region or category, then move to a contrasting style. Independent bottlers are often useful for learning how cask selection differs from distillery character. Ask exhibitors whether a bottle is a core release, a single cask or a limited edition, and note its ABV and maturation history.

Because both sessions are sold out, avoid spending the day trying to gain entry without a genuine valid ticket. Keep your confirmation accessible, understand any bag restrictions from the stadium, drink water and plan for a substantial meal around your session. The festival has also said that its previous foodbank raffle will not be running in 2026; don't carry donated food expecting a collection point.

Visitor checklist

  • Confirm which session your ticket covers; one visitor should not attempt to attend both.

  • Check the current exhibitor and ticket pages for last-minute changes.

  • Use Mount Florida station or another safe transport option.

  • Enter at the south-side main doors as directed, subject to event-day signage.

  • Allow time for admission and remember the last-pour cutoff.

  • Keep notes, pace tastings and arrange transport without driving after alcohol.
