Frey Ranch Distillery is a farm distillery in Fallon, Nevada, in the northern part of the state. The distillery sits on the family farm at 1045 Dodge Lane.
Founding and the Frey family
Co-founders Colby and Ashley Frey are credited with starting Frey Ranch in 2006, and a third-party post describes it as the first licensed distillery in Nevada since Prohibition. Sources differ on the timeline: a 2025 press release from the distillery marks 10 years of distilling, which points to first production around 2015, so 2006 is best read as the year the venture began.
The Frey family has farmed in this region since 1854, according to a company profile. The distillery's own 2025 statement describes more than 170 years of growing grain on the family's farms in Northern Nevada. Colby Frey uses the title Whiskey Farmer.
Estate grain
Frey Ranch grows 100% of its grains on a 2,000-acre Nevada farm. It describes itself as an estate, farm-to-glass distillery, with the grain grown on the same property as the distillery.

Harvester Series 10th Anniversary Edition
In April 2025 Frey Ranch released the first Harvester Series bottling to mark 10 years of distilling. It was created with master blender Nancy Fraley from five grains grown on the farm, and the blend included 71.2% winter rye and 9.3% winter wheat. Only 500 numbered bottles were made, at 121.14 proof, with a Nevada retail price of $249.99. The bottle uses a vintage tractor topper made from recycled metal.
