History and current status
Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation produces GRAINVEST (Gu Yun), a distinctive wheat-based single grain whisky separate from the island's barley-focused single malt producers. Whisky was used in blended products before single grain casks were released from 2022.
Distillery, production and whisky provenance
GRAINVEST has sherry, bourbon and virgin-oak matured wheat single grain bottlings. The 2026 IWSC listing confirms an eight-year-old virgin oak whisky at 56% ABV; a 2025 special edition was 42%. Do not call it single malt.
