People and business ownership
Founder and distiller Pär Caldenby. Ownership may have changed from the founder and should be checked with the most recent company information.
Whisky production and maturation
Smögen uses long fermentation, small batch pot distillation and a strong emphasis on cask management. Its malt has been predominantly Swedish-grown heavily peated barley from 2020 onwards.
The 6 Year Old 100 Proof is matured in oloroso sherry quarter casks and bottled at 57.1% ABV. A special small cask influences maturation more strongly than a large vatting, but does not imply a universal ageing speed.
Whisky bottle range
Smögen 6 Year Old 100 Proof

Smögen 10 Year Old Dante
