Green River Distilling Co. is a bourbon distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky, on the Ohio River in the western part of the state.

Founded 1885

The Green River Distilling Company was founded in 1885 by J.W. McCulloch in Owensboro. Several sources describe it as the 10th oldest licensed distillery in Kentucky.

A historic industrial site

A 2024 tour review describes the site as a historic, industrial distillery in Owensboro and a stop for visitors to the city. The distillery has been featured by national publications and promoted by Visit Owensboro.

Reintroduced in 2022

The Green River name was brought back in 2022, and the company has operated again since then. Green River Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the brand's core bottling.
