Founder

Master Distiller Chuck Miller founded it with his wife Jeanette. Choose Culpeper and the Virginia Spirits Board give 1988 as the founding year, while Virginia.org says the idea began in 1987 six miles south of Culpeper. Miller grew up on a farm and is the grandson of a moonshiner, and set out to follow his grandfather's trade legally.

Production

According to the Virginia Spirits Board, the farm grows and harvests its own corn, wheat and barley, and uses a historic 1933 copper pot still. Its labels include Kopper Kettle and Virginia Lightning. It makes whiskey, moonshine, vodka, gin and rum and carries Tim Smith's Climax Moonshine. It appeared on the Discovery Channel series Moonshiners.
