History
Construction began in 2016 and the first casks were filled in December 2017. The distillery is primarily owned by Tim Morrison of Morrison Glasgow Distillers, great-grandson of John Morrison who built the Queen's Dock and pump house. The Morrison family earlier owned Morrison Bowmore until selling to Beam Suntory in 1994. Operations director is Andrew Morrison and distillery manager is Alistair McDonald, formerly of Auchentoshan.
Whisky and visiting
Its first single malt, Stobcross, was released in 2021, matured in American and European oak casks. It makes a Lowland style single malt. It offers interactive tours, a shop and a cafe.
Visiting
The address is Queen's Dock, 100 Stobcross Rd, Glasgow G3 8QQ. At opening the Clydeside Tour cost £15 for adults and included a tasting of three drams. Those 2017 prices are likely out of date, so check the official site.
Sources and gaps
Gaps for Filip: current range with ABVs, current tour prices and hours, and any ownership change since 2017 were not verified, and the official site was not reached. Set the URL slug in SEO settings.
Verified producer details and recent milestones
The official Clydeside Stobcross page lists a 46% ABV Lowland single malt, made with Scottish barley and water from Loch Katrine. Producer tasting descriptions include floral sweetness, orchard fruit and white pepper. These are official notes, not a personal Whisky Clan tasting score.
Clydeside also makes Napier, matured in Oloroso sherry casks for more than six years. The distillery's visitor experience runs from the restored Queen's Dock Pump House at 100 Stobcross Road, Glasgow; check the booking page for current prices and tour availability.
