Where is Aber Falls Distillery?
The distillery is at Station Road, Abergwyngregyn, Gwynedd, LL33 0LB. Its visitor listing places it a stone's throw from Rhaeadr Fawr, the Aber Falls waterfall, and says the village sees over 50,000 visitors a year.
History
TripAdvisor's listing says the distillery was commissioned in late 2017, and the 1001 Spirits brand page also gives 2017 as the year it was established.
The distillery describes itself as one of only four distilleries in Wales and the first in North Wales since the early 1900s.
It says its whisky became available from 2020, and that the whisky is distilled, bottled and matured on site using Welsh ingredients from the surrounding area.
The building was a slate works in the 19th century, a margarine factory during the world wars and, more recently, a drinks wholesaler depot, before being restored as the distillery.
